about us
What is the Freiburg House of Prayer?
It is a place...
-
where Christians from different churches and congregations meet for prayer.
-
where from one day onwards the “fire” of prayer will never cease - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
-
where people can be in the presence of God and be touched, healed and changed.
-
where the bride of Jesus calls for him (see Rev. 22:17).
"And the foreigners who join the LORD to serve him and to love the name of the LORD ... I will lead them to my holy mountain and delight them in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and sacrifices shall be pleasant on my altar because my house should be called a house of prayer for all peoples. " (Isa 56, 6a +7) "
In the context of our House of Prayer, “prayer” always means all forms of prayer, e.g. intercession, worship, praise or meditation with the bible. Music has a special place in many hours whereas some hours are completely silent.
God seeks for an encounter with us. He wants to delight us in our prayer times - see Isaiah 56, verse 7a.
The Freiburg House of Prayer is a place of continuous prayer and anyone can visit and get involved at any time.
But you can also simply enjoy the presence of God and just be still.
Details to the prayer hours can be seen under " Opening Hours " or in one of our flyers, available at our reception.
The Freiburg House of Prayer is deliberately non-denominational. As Christians from different denominations who worship God together, we experience a growing openness to one another and the awareness that we belong together. We believe that there is a great blessing on active unity among us Christians and Jesus' prayer for unity in John 17 is one of our central concerns.
